Appeality is built primarily for London council and TfL penalty workflows, including many parking, bus lane, moving traffic, red route, and certain road-user charge cases. Private parking charges on private land follow a different process, and Fixed Penalty Notices are different again, so those are treated separately.
Not necessarily. In many cases, if you challenge within 14 days and the challenge is rejected, you may still be offered the reduced amount. That said, rules can vary by notice type and issuer, so you should not assume the discount is protected in every case. We make that risk clear before submission.
In many council and TfL cases, you normally have 28 days to challenge the notice. In some cases, acting within the first 14 days can matter for the reduced amount, so it is best to upload the notice as early as possible.
At minimum, upload a clear photo or PDF of every page of the notice. If you have them, supporting photos of signs, road markings, permits, payment records, loading evidence, screenshots, or prior correspondence can materially strengthen the challenge.
Yes, where the issuer and case type allow it. Some notices can be challenged online or in writing, but some issuers require the named recipient or registered keeper to authorise a third party first. Where authority is required, we will tell you before submission.
That depends on the type and stage of the notice. For council and TfL penalties, if a formal challenge is rejected, you will usually receive a Notice of Rejection and then have a further opportunity either to pay or appeal to the relevant independent tribunal.
No. Appeality is an appeal-support service. We help organise the facts, evidence, and challenge wording, but we do not replace independent legal advice. If your case involves court proceedings, criminal allegations, or something unusually complex, you should speak to a qualified legal professional.
